Zionist regime's forces shot and killed a Palestinian and injured at least a dozen more as hundreds of Palestinians gathered from across the Gaza Strip and headed to the security fence to participate in the 77th weekly anti-occupation protests known as the Great March of Return.

Iran Press/Middle East: The Israeli army shot and killed a Palestinian and injured at least a dozen more by using rubber bullet and tear gas on Friday in Gaza during the 77th weekly 'Great March of Return' protest along the occupied Palestine border.

It has been more than one and a half years since the 'Great March of Return' demonstrations started on 30 March 2018 and it has been held every week along the Gaza-Israeli border.

Since the Gaza rallies began in March last year, nearly 310 Palestinian protesters have been martyred and thousands more wounded by Israeli soldiers shooting indiscriminately at protesters near the security fence.

Palestinian demonstrators are demanding an end to Israel’s 12-year-old blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has shattered the coastal enclave’s economy and deprived its two million inhabitants of freedom of movement, causing huge unemployment and hardship for the Palestinians of Gaza. Many basic amenities, such as water and electricity are in short supply and very often intermittent in Gaza because of Israel's total blockade of the territory.
