Oman’s Foreign Minister said that the country will consider supporting Iranian President's Persian Gulf security plan — the 'Hormuz Peace Endeavour' — if the Iranian plan is based on 'stability'.

Iran Press/Middle East: Oman's Foreign Minister, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, in an exclusive interview with Al-Monitor, stated that his country will support the plan of Iran's 'Hormuz Peace Endeavor' if it is based on 'Stability'.

Bin Alawi emphasized that Oman is a facilitator, not a mediator, in the current crisis in the region.

In his September 25 speech in the UN General Assembly, Rouhani gave a brief explanation of his plan.

He said that Iran seeks collective cooperation within the Persian Gulf region for regional security and wants all countries in the region to participate in the process.

Rouhani said, "All countries affected by developments in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz will be allied to the historic responsibility of my country for maintaining security, peace, stability, and progress in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. I invite them to  Hormoz Peace Endeavor." 101/216
