Moscow (IP) - The Iranian ambassador to Russia called for efforts by the Russian state and parliamentary officials to lift US unilateral sanctions against Iran.

Iran Press/Europe: Kazem Jalali made a separate phone conversation with the Russian officials, Deputy Federation Council Elias Omakhanov, Head of the Federation Council’s International Committee Konstantin Kasachev, and Head of the Foreign Relations Committee for Duma Leonid Slutsky. 

“Unfortunately, the US cruel sanctions against the Iranian nation have diminished Tehran's capacity, especially in the health sector to tackle the virus pandemic, and severely impacted small businesses,” Kazemi Jalali said explaining about the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

Russian parliamentarians also referred to the need for the lifting of US illegal and unilateral sanctions and pledged to pursue the rights of the Iranian nation through international communities and emphasized on the continuation of the Russian humanitarian assistance to Iran combating Coronavirus.

The Iranian ambassador to Russia also sent separate letters to other countries’ ambassadors to Moscow, stating the US illegal sanctions against the Iranian nation are a serious obstacle to counter the virus efficiently.

Addressing the ambassadors, that the continuation of the condition has endangered the lives of many people Jalali stated, "on the basis of ethics and human rights considerations, the US cruel sanctions must be confronted."
