Iran Press/Asia: Gul Islam Sial, the spokesman for the Zabul governorate, said that three civilians and two other civilians, including a woman, were injured in a roadside bomb blast today (Saturday) during the passage of a car carrying civilians in the city of Shahjoy.
Sar-e-Pul police also announced that two civilians were killed by a remote-controlled bomb in the center of the province.
Attaullah Khogyani, the spokesman for the Nangarhar, announced: "The Taliban last night attacked a checkpoint of pro-government insurgents (pro-government Afghan militias) in Khogyani district of Nangarhar province, killing two insurgents and six Taliban members."
The Afghan army command in northeastern of the country also announced that forty-four Taliban, including four leaders of the group, had been killed and twenty-four wounded in recent clashes with Afghan troops in Kunduz province.
The Afghan Ministry of Defense also announced today that 24 Taliban members were killed in clashes with Afghan forces in Faryab and Nimroz provinces.
