Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking at his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Ali Rabiei stated: "The government congratulates and condoles the martyrdom of the son of the Iranian scientific community to the Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, honorable and patient people, the scientific community of the country and his family."
He also stressed that Iran could have thwarted the assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh with a little care and observance of protection protocols.
The government spokesman added: "This brutal assassination took a father from his family, a scientist from the university community, and an honorable citizen from our nation, but there is nothing else which could be achieved beyond this."
Rabiee added: "Terrorists will definitely not achieve their goals. Our nuclear and defense knowledge is not assassinable and irreversible. Our people were unaffected by the psychological operations of this assassination, and, as their behavior these days showed, they became smarter and more united in the national interest and against the real enemies of our nation."
The government spox went on to say: "Disrupting the peace of mind of the society, disappointing the people and achieving victory and repelling the maximum pressure, creating confusion in Iran's strategy and putting force on playing on enemy's court, and finally disrupting regional security and blocking the window of peace and tranquility are amongst the objectives sought from this assassination."
Rabiee highlighted: "Contrary to what we hear in the foreign media about the assassination of our country's nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, terrorist and spy organizations were under our cover despite their many claims, and the place of the assassination was predicted and with a little care and observance of protection protocols, we could have thwarted this crime."
He noted: "At the same time, the security services, as always, will do their best to improve their procedures as much as possible and to ensure that these unfortunate events do not happen again."
