Iran Press/ Asia: In their discussions, Mohammad-Nejad emphasized the importance of strengthening and expanding media cooperation between Iran and Thailand. Ambassador Heydari noted that Iranian films hold a prestigious place in Thailand, suggesting that the production of joint documentaries and fiction films could further enhance relations between the two countries.
The ambassador also referenced Sheikh Ahmad Qomi, a Shia scholar who lived in Thailand over four hundred years ago, highlighting his significant role in preserving the common cultural heritage of Iran and Thailand. He mentioned that Jamal Shoorjeh, a director, had planned to create a film about Qomi's life, although this project ultimately did not come to fruition.
Ahmad Shirzadian, the editor-in-chief of the Iran Press news agency, expressed the agency's readiness to cover events in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
He noted that increased interaction between the Iranian embassy and Thai media in 2022 and 2023 led to more than 160 news reports about the achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran being broadcast in Thailand.
The meeting underscored the potential for enhanced cultural and media collaboration between Iran and Thailand, reflecting a broader commitment to fostering bilateral relations.
