Iran Press/ Asia: Rasoul Mohajer paid a visit to Uzbekistan to attend the International Conference of 'Central and South Asia: Regional Cohesion, Opportunities and Challenges". He delivered a speech at the summit on Friday.
In his speech, referring to the many cultural and civilizational commonalities in the region that have led to historical unity between nations, Mohajer said: "The requirements of the modern world require us to recreate this valuable heritage at all political, economic, commercial, cultural and human levels."
Mohajer, highlighting intra-regional trade and expanding transportation, and developing transportation infrastructure as elements of developing relations between the countries of the region, also mentioned some advantages of the Islamic Republic of Iran in connecting the two regions of Central and South Asia.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Economic Diplomacy referred to cooperation with landlocked countries and transit countries in the region such as Pakistan and Turkey in the form of ECO transport corridors as one of the actions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Mohajer also mentioned the strengthening of multi-faceted regional transportation and equipping the ports of Chabahar and Bandar Abbas in the south and Amirabad and Caspian in the Caspian Sea among other measures taken by Iran.
The conference 'Central and South Asia: Regional Cohesion, Opportunities and Challenges' was held for one day in Tashkent with the participation of delegations from 44 countries and 30 international organizations.
