The representative from Shiraz in the Iranian parliament said that gas prices hike outweighed its profits because it brings financial and psychological damages.

Iran Press/Iran news: "The increase in fuel prices would bring about 30 trillion Tomans in profits to the country, but the upheavals after this increase would not only benefit the country, but 80 trillion Tomans financial and psychological damages were caused to the people," Masoud Rezaei added.

"We must all respect the constitution," he said, "In our country, we have both religious ethics, and the cultural teachings. Those who have power don't know they should ask and learn," the representative from Shiraz highlighted, Iran Press reported.

He added, "Anyone who is familiar with the alphabet of economics must know that production is a miracle for Islamic Iran because production creates employment."

In today's parliament session, delegates have given a written warning to some of the country's top officials, including the president, the minister of communications, the minister of petroleum and the interior minister.
