Tehran (IP) - Iran's president emphasized the need for creating equal social opportunities for people with disabilities and stated that all institutions and organizations should do their best to create the basis for the growth and flourishing of the talents of people with disabilities and also to create job opportunities for them.

Iran PressIran news: On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Ebrahim Raisi said the disabled in society must be provided with opportunities to flourish as well as job opportunities.

He added that perhaps they might be physically limited, yet they were divinyl gifted by which they have been able to take great steps in scientific, sports, social, cultural, economic, and productive activities. 

International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3) is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992. It has been observed with varying degrees of success around the planet. 

Raisi said that preparing jobs for the disabled not only could bring about social solace but also would shore up social vitality and participation, calling on the officials to seriously pursue the issue.

"Paying attention to the opinions and demands of the people with disabilities, in case not out of pity, but out of altruism, must be pursued for the sake of God and should become a public culture," the Iranian president stressed. 

Raisi made the remarks in Tehran on Friday among the domestic and foreign guests, on the eve of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. 

The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of persons with disabilities.
