Rome (IP)- A new poll in Italy shows that despite the country's support for the government and people of Ukraine, the overwhelming majority of Italians are worried about the continuation of the conflict, especially the widespread consequences of the war in Ukraine.

Iran PressEurope: The IPSOS polling indicates that Italians are so concerned about the war in Ukraine, and the poll says that 9 out of 10 people are worried about the war.

According to the poll, one in five Italians also believes that the Ukraine war will lead to World War III.

Meanwhile, in the past few weeks, Italians in various cities held anti-NATO demonstrations in support of peace, demanding an immediate end to the war in Ukraine.

A large peaceful demonstration is scheduled in Rome on November 5. Giuseppe Conte, the former Prime Minister of Italy and the President of the Five Star Movement (M5S), the third most powerful party in the country, will participate in the demonstration.

Despite supporting Ukraine, Conte is against sending weapons to the country. He said: "The escalation of tension is pushing us towards the point of no return of a nuclear war day by day."

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press in Rome, Conte stressed stopping sending more weapons to Ukraine.

The former prime minister of Italy stated: "I believe that Italy, as a member of the European Union and NATO, should make all efforts to find a political solution to the war in Ukraine."

"Our goal should not be to defeat Russia; it is very dangerous and will lead to the escalation of military tension and world war," he emphasized.
