Rome (IP) - Rising food prices and electricity, gas, gasoline, and diesel tariffs have pushed Italians to the streets.

Iran PressEurope: Italians protested against rising food prices by gathering in front of government buildings in Rome and other cities, holding empty containers.

Rising prices in Italy, while wages have not been increased in accordance with inflation, have led to widespread protests and strikes in the country.

The Ukraine war has had dire consequences for the Italian economy, as it has for other European countries.

The Italians had previously stated their opposition to the Ukraine war through demonstrations and rallies, blaming NATO expansionism for the Ukraine crisis and war.
