Kermanshah (IP) – The entrance of a new mass of dust from Iraq to the border province of Kermanshah, west of Iran, has faced the province with a crisis of air pollution and haze.

Iran PressIran News: In recent days, Iraq has been facing dust storms and has also affected Iran's Kermanshah Province, leading to the closure of Kermanshah offices, schools and universities.

The horizontal visibility in Qasr-e Shirin and Sarpol-e Zahab of Kermanshah Province reached less than 300 meters, while the horizontal visibility is 10,000 meters in standard conditions.

The haze has intensified on Tuesday and Wednesday in Kermanshah, and experts have advised the elderly, heart patients and children not to leave the house. People use face masks when coming out.

A vast mass of dust storm in Iraq entered Iran on Tuesday and has affected the western and border provinces.

The vast mass of dust has reached other provinces of Iran, including Tehran, and on Wednesday, schools, universities and government's offices in Tehran have been closed.
