Tehran (IP) - The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemned the US Secretary of State's interference in the Palestinian internal affairs.

Iran PressMiddle East: Since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan this year, the Zionist regime's military has increased its attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and various areas of the West Bank, killing several Palestinians and wounding and arresting a large number.

Since 1948 when the US-backed regime of Israel occupied the Muslim country, it has constantly been clashing with the Palestinian people, killing them, jailing them, destroying their homes, and constructing new settlements for the Zionist settlers.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken recently told a Senate hearing that the Palestinian Authority needed to be supported despite its shortcomings, as the only alternative was Hamas.

According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi on Friday, Basem Naim, the head of Hamas's foreign relations department, said that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's remarks were a clear and unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of Palestine.

"It is the Palestinian people who determine their leadership and they do not need foreign guardianship," Basem Naim added.

In recent days, the US Secretary of State has had talks with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and the head of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas.
