Tehran (IP)- in an opening ceremony of transportation projects, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development said: "With the agreements that we had with Turkmenistan, 40-50-year-old transit barriers between Iran and Turkmenistan were removed."

Iran PressIran News: Ahead of the 43rd Islamic Revolution's victory anniversary in Iran, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development ordered virtually the opening of 500 projects in the areas of ports and maritime, bridges and road transport, rail, airport, and meteorology on Sunday.

Rostam Ghasemi, Minister of Roads and Urban Development, added: "In the past few months, in the Sarakhs-Turkmenistan sector, we tried to achieve a significant transit share with the agreement we had with Turkmenistan, and accordingly, the 50-year transit barrier between Iran and Turkmenistan was removed."

"We tried to reach the countries of the world in the railway sector by connecting the north-south lines," the minister highlighted, referring to the north-south corridor.

Every year, as the Iranian people get ready to celebrate the Islamic Revolution victory anniversary on 12 to 22 Bahman month in the Persian calendar, which coincides with the beginning of February, the Iranian government opens up new economic projects all across the country.
