Kabul (IP) -The first literary conference on Lt. Gen. Soleimani's martyrdom codenamed "Soleimani Jewel" was held with the presence of poets, writers, and cultural figures of Afghanistan.

Iran PressAsia: The event was organized on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani and his fellow martyrs.

Gholamhossein Shirzad, the cultural attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran, spoke in Kabul on Thursday about the aspects of the character of Martyr Soleimani.

A number of prominent Afghan poets also recited poetry on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) and the martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani.

Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani, the head of the IRGC elite Quds Force, and the former Deputy Commander of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were martyred along with eight of their companions in the US strike on Baghdad airport on January 3, 2020. 

General Soleimani was in Baghdad on the official invitation of Iraq's Government.
