Commentary:

Commentary (IP) - The White House calls for negotiations with Iran and claims to be ready to return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) but at the same time imposes new sanctions on Iranian individuals and companies.

Iran Presscommentary: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian tweeted on Tuesday that Tehran carefully examines the behavior of US officials.

 Iran examining Biden's behaviour

Amir Abdollahian also wrote: " The P4+1 should be ready for negotiations based on mutual interests & rights."

The United States is the party that has violated the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. Acknowledging the failure of the US policy of maximum pressure against Iran, incumbent President Joe Biden said he intended to bring the US back to the JCPOA; So far, the United States has not only taken any action to return to the agreement but has also imposed new sanctions on Iran.

The Iranian Foreign Minister's remarks about JCPOA and US and European policies point to several important points that are very important in assessing the obstacles to returning to JCPOA.

Amir-Abdollahian points out that "basically, the United States does not have a serious decision to return to JCPOA and seeks to blame Iran with irrational behavior and to continue the policy of sanctions and political pressure and threatening Iran."

Europe's inaction and passivism in fulfilling its commitments in the JCPOA is another factor that has encouraged the United States to pursue unilateralist measures. Whereas, the logical solution to get JCPOA out of the impasse created by the United States is an unconditional return to commitments. Implementing the commitments in the JCPOA under UN Security Council Resolution 2231 is certainly "the most logical way to maintain JCPOA, because the continuation of past mistakes will result in the destruction of the JCPOA and the loss of all parties."

Biden continues Trump's JCPOA policy

Ardeshir Sanaei, a university professor and international affairs expert, blames the change in the year compared to the year of concluding  JCPOA, Joe Biden's efforts to reach a consensus inside the United States, and regional sabotage as the White House's doubts about returning to JCPOA, but notes It seems that US officials seem to say that the Trump administration's policy of maximum pressure against Iran has failed and is not a new US policy, but in practice, they do not want to miss out on the benefits of the policy of maximum pressure against Iran.

Another point in view of the challenges of JCPOA; is the threatening American literature that occasionally sparks the irrational stances of White House officials.

The latest remarks in this regard are the recent remarks of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who was faced with a reaction from Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Threats against Iran never worked

Khatibzadeh tweeted in response to recent remarks by Anthony Blinken that he was pursuing other options for Iran: "Threats against Iran have never been effective.

As Khatibzadeh has pointed out; the hypothetical "options" of the United States have already been tested in the region, and the resulting catastrophic failures for the United States and the scandal that others must address are obvious to all.

The mistakes of the United States towards JCPOA and its insistence on continuing illegal sanctions against Iran are obvious and undeniable. In fact, the United States is the main cause of JCPOA's current situation. Returning to JCPOA is, of course, difficult given the distrust that has developed in the United States and Europe; But the equation is not complicated. It all depends on the decision of Washington and Europe to implement the commitments, which must be verified in the light of past commitments.
