Kyrgyzstan ready to transport goods from China to Europe via Iran

The President of Kyrgyzstan announced his readiness to transfer goods from China to Bandar Abbas in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the European Union.

Iran PressAmerica: Kyrgyz President Sadir Jabarov announced in a video message at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly that Kyrgyzstan was ready to cooperate in sending transit cargo through China and Iranian ports to the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union.

"Central Asian countries are like a bridge because of their geographical location, connecting the 'East-West, North-South' routes from the Great Silk Road to the present," he said.

According to the Kyrgyz president, the region is becoming one of the most important hubs of world trade, despite the lack of direct access to the sea.

He added: "Central Asian countries are constantly expanding international roads and railways and establishing logistics centers and transportation terminals."

"Kyrgyzstan is developing its road transport infrastructure, which is part of the international transport artery, and the construction of a new North-South highway will be completed soon," Jabarov said.

He noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is involved in the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project and supports the modernization of the Eurasian railway infrastructure.

"Today, Kyrgyzstan can provide reasonable time and price for the delivery of transit cargo between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, Central Asia, China, and the European Union to the ports of Karachi Bandar Abbas, and the Black Sea," Jabarov said.

The President of Kyrgyzstan added: "I invite the international logistics trade to multilateral cooperation, including in multimodal transport."

He drew attention to the fact that if barriers to crossing government borders remain, investment projects and new transportation corridors will not maximize the desired benefits.

Jabarov added: "In this regard, we support the simplification of border crossings and transit between countries and regions by creating favorable conditions for international transport, preventing delays in freight transport between countries, and removing obstacles to economic cooperation."
