Iran Press/ Iran news: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh stated on Tuesday, in response to the reporter's questions about Saudi Arabia: "Saudi officials should know that the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on its principled positions, has always wanted the countries of the region to maintain peace and security in the Persian Gulf."
He added: "This approach, with the efforts of Iran, has helped to end the domination of ISIS and other terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria and to prevent the infiltration of takfiri groups in the countries of the Persian Gulf."
"We have always welcomed the dialogue to achieve positive results and our view of negotiations with Saudi Arabia is positive as well," he noted.
Khatibzadeh also in response to another question said: "Any decision and policy in the field of Iranians abroad will be taken by the relevant legal agencies and any new decision about this issue will be reflected by the Secretariat of the High Council of Iranian Affairs Abroad."
Reacting to the baseless claims of some Western media about Iranian sports and participation in the Olympics, he said: "After the Islamic Revolution, Iran has the most development in the field of the championship. With the development of infrastructure in these sectors, this year, compared to all previous years, Iran has achieved the highest Olympic quota in the history of these games."

Khatibzadeh added that the Islamic Republic of Iran, with all its cultural considerations, was one of the first in the discussion of gender justice, and this year, the girls would have an effective presence in athletics after 57 years."
In response to a question about some news published regarding the closure of the Iranian Consulate General in Mazar-e-Sharif, in Afghanistan, Khatibzadeh stated that it had stopped accepting visa applicants for security reasons and would resume its activities as the situation calms down.
Regarding the suggestion of the Republic of Azerbaijan to create a platform for 3+3 regional cooperation, Khatibzadeh said: "With the liberation of the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the ground has been prepared for the cooperation between the countries of the Caucasus region and the three countries of Iran, Russia, and Turkey."
He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran had close relations with the three countries of the Caucasus, Russia, and Turkey, so it could take the first steps towards the realization of this cooperation.
