Tehran (IP): The president of the Iranian Weightlifting Federation announced the sending of Parisa Jahanfekrian as the first Iranian Olympic weightlifting woman to Tokyo.

Iran PressIran News:  Ali Moradi, in an interview with the official website of the Iranian Weightlifting Federation, said that despite having surgery a few days ago, Parisa Jahanfekrian, a +87 kg member of the Iranian women's weightlifting national team, will be under the care of a doctor for the next few days and the coaches of the Iranian women's national weightlifting team will attend the camp and will be sent to the Tokyo Olympics.

The World Federation has announced the name of Parisa Jahanfekrian as a replacement for the athletes from Samoa who were dropped out of the list of quota holders for the Tokyo Olympics.

Parisa Jahanfekrian said she was happy to be the first Iranian woman to win an Olympic quota in weightlifting.

Iran's first female Olympic weightlifter added: "Given that it has recently been announced that she has won the Olympic quota, she will try to participate in the Tokyo Olympics with relative readiness."

Javanfekrian said that she suffered a shoulder injury six months ago, but fortunately, the injury problem was resolved with surgery a few days ago.
