Tehran (IP) - The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said after receiving the first dose of the Iranian COVIran Barekat vaccine on Friday morning that all must respect this national honor.

Iran PressIran News: After injecting the vaccine, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei called the Iranian-made coronavirus vaccine a national honor and thanked all those involved who make this national honor with their knowledge, experience and scientific and practical efforts.

"I sincerely thank the esteemed Minister of Health and all the medical centers of the country, Mr Mokhber and his colleagues who appeared in this case as well as other issues with compassion, interest, initiative and ability, and from Dr Marandi and Dr Sajjadi for their constant health care of me."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, referring to the insistence of others that he must have been vaccinated a few months ago, underlined: "At first, I did not want to use the non-Iranian vaccine, so I said I would wait for the Iranian vaccine because we must respect this national honor and when there is a possibility of prevention and treatment inside the country, why not use it?"

Ayatollah Khamenei added: "Of course, when needed, the use of foreign vaccines along with Iranian vaccines is not prohibited, but we must respect the Iranian vaccine and I hail all young and hardworking scientists, active in the production of this vaccine and other centers in the country that produce vaccines."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed: "In addition to insisting on using the Iranian vaccine, I emphasized that the vaccine should be received by its schedule. Today, thank God, most of the people over 80 years of age have received the vaccine."

The Leader also stressed the need to register scientific documents and publish articles related to vaccines and added: "In addition to the strong, fast and timely production of vaccines, the official in charge must prepare and publish scientific documents and articles for the world to know about this great work."

The Minister of Health and Medical Education, Saeed Namaki, for his part, thanked the Leader for his support, and pointed to the good management of the fourth peak of the coronavirus in the country compared to other countries and the registration of the Iranian treatment model, and said: "Regarding vaccines, from the beginning to buy and also, transferring the technical knowledge, good measures were taken and the Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order, in addition to vaccines, provided very good cooperation in providing masks and oxygen generators."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, received the domestically-developed COVIran Barekat coronavirus vaccine on Thursday.

Iran's first domestically-produced COVID-19 vaccine, known as COVIran Barekat, which is the product of the efforts made by the young Iranian researchers and scientists, recently received the authorization to start emergency use and Iran became one of the six countries producing the coronavirus vaccine in the world.

The Razi vaccine, officially known as Razi COV-Pars, is Iran’s second homegrown vaccine and a product of the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute, which is administered via injection and inhalation.

Fakhra, the third Iranian vaccine, is developed by the Iranian Defense Ministry’s research center, formerly headed by nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was assassinated in a suspected Israeli-linked terror attack late last year.
