Iran Press/ Iran news: Iranian Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian and Prime Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Sabouhi Mohammadov are scheduled to address the audience today, Monday, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of joint Iranian-Azerbaijani water cooperation.
Attending and visiting the photo exhibition and documents of 50 years of joint cooperation between the two countries in the operation of the water facilities of the Aras border river are other important programs of this event.
Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as two Muslim and neighboring countries, share a common border through the Aras River, which is considered a border of friendship, on which the main dams of Aras with a capacity of 1.2 billion cubic meters and Khodaafarin dam with a capacity of 1.6 billion cubic meters have been built and are about to be operationalized.
Also, regulation and diversion dams 'Mill Moghan' in Ardabil province with a capacity of 32 million cubic meters and 'Qiz Qala-e-Si' dam in East Azerbaijan with a capacity of 60 million cubic meters, on the Aras border river with the aim of developing agriculture in the downstream lands has been constructed.
