Tehran (IP) - In a meeting with members of the Assembly of Experts on Monday, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution called on the government to abide by the law passed by parliament on the Iran Nuclear Deal.

Iran PressIran News: Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei clarified the disagreement between the parliament and the government on the implementation of the law, known as "the Strategic Action Plan to Lift Sanctions," and said that the parliament and the government should resolve their differences today so that it does not seem that there are two different voices in the country.

He added: "This law, which is a good law, must be enforced carefully."

On December 1, Iranian lawmakers passed the bill of “Strategic Action Plan to Lift Sanctions and Safeguard Interests of Iranian People,” which intends to counteract sanctions imposed on Iran after President Donald Trump on May 8, 2018, pulled the United States out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. The bill became law after Iran’s Guardian Council ratified it a day later.

According to the new law, the Iranian administration is required to suspend more commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which was signed by Iran and six world powers on July 14 that year.

Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reached a “temporary bilateral technical understanding” during the visit of the IAEA chief to Tehran, according to a joint statement.

The joint statement, which was released by the Agency following its director-general’s trip to Tehran on Sunday, declares that Iran will stop its voluntary implementation of the Additional Protocol to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and will deny IAEA inspectors access to its nuclear facilities beyond the Safeguards Agreement as of February 23, 2021, for three months.

Iran and the IAEA have also agreed to a temporary bilateral technical understanding, compatible with the Law, whereby the IAEA will continue with its necessary verification and monitoring activities for up to 3 months (as per a technical annex).

The Iranian lawmakers on Monday, Feb 22nd, 2021, agreed on the government's violation of the implementation of the Strategic Action Plan.

They said the joint agreement and statement of the IAEA and the AEOI is a clear violation of the Strategic Action Plan to Lift Sanctions and Protect the Rights of the Iranians.

This is while the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Monday that all agreements between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are in the framework of Iran’s parliament law.
