Pakistan has designated tomorrow as “Palestine Thanksgiving Day” to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and celebrate recent ceasefire efforts.

Why it matters:

The official designation highlights Pakistan’s strong political and public support for the Palestinian people, reinforcing its commitment to advancing Palestine’s cause.

The big picture:

Pakistan has long been a vocal defender of Palestinian rights in international forums. During the Gaza war, Pakistan witnessed nationwide demonstrations and is now commemorating the ceasefire agreement. During the Israeli war on Gaza, Pakistan sent humanitarian aid batches to the Strip.

What he's saying:

Information Minister Atta Tarar stated, “The civilized world raised its voice in support of the Palestinian people, and Pakistan stood at the forefront of nations defending their cause in all international forums.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi added that the day will be observed as a Thanksgiving Day to foster solidarity and prayers for the Palestinian people, rather than as a day for protests.
