Qalibaf noted that Russia and China, as permanent members of the UN Security Council, have also emphasized the illegality of the measure.
The speaker said the sanctions proposed in the resolution carry little weight compared to U.S. sanctions.
“Nevertheless, if any country takes action against Iran based on these illegal resolutions, they will face a firm and reciprocal response from Iran,” Qalibaf warned.
Referring to Iran’s diplomatic efforts to resolve the issue, including the Cairo Agreement, he argued that Western countries use negotiations as a tool to deceive and pressure Iran into giving up its missile program. “For Iran, diplomacy has always been a means of defending its rights and will remain so. But it has become clear that diplomacy without strengthening elements of power serves only as a tool of pressure,” he added.
Addressing Israeli threats, the Speaker stated: “If Israel has not attacked Iran so far, it is not because the snapback mechanism hadn't been activated, but because it knows another attack would bring about a heavier defeat than its past wars.”
“The only way to deter enemies from attacking Iran is to strengthen the elements of power and maintain national unity,” Qalibaf highlighted.
