Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, in his weekly press conference on Monday, rejected a media report on the upcoming Iran-U.S. indirect talks in Norway.

What he's saying:

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, in a weekly press conference:

On Iran-U.S. Talks:

  • We do not approve of Norway hosting the next round of indirect Iran-U.S. talks.
  • We do not trust America. Even during the negotiations with America, there was no trust.
  • Their actions in the Zionist regime’s attacks on Iran and the U.S.'s direct participation practically left no room even for “zero trust.”
  • What guarantees the independence, territorial integrity, and dignity of the Islamic Republic of Iran are our national capabilities, including our military and armed forces' defensive capabilities.

On the IAEA's Deputy Travel to Iran:

  • Talks with the IAEA are scheduled to begin today.
  • The outcome of the IAEA deputy general director with Iranian officials cannot be predicted now because it is a technical issue.
  • In the history of the IAEA, you cannot find an attack on a peaceful nuclear facility under the supervision of the Agency.
  • We are dissatisfied with the Agency's failure.

On Talks With E3:

  • Talks with Europe have not stopped.
  • We cannot say that this process has stopped. At the Istanbul meeting the both sides agreed to continue these talks.
  • Only the time and place of the next round have not been decided, but this does not mean that the talks have stopped. We are still in contact to determine the appropriate time and place for the next meeting.
  • Three European countries, for obvious reasons, deprived themselves of the benefits of membership in the JCPOA, including their stance on the Zionist regime's aggression against Iran.

ON Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council:

  • The nuclear issue has always been under the supervision of the Supreme National Security Council.
  • The Foreign Ministry is proceeding with the work under the supervision of the decisions of the Supreme National Security Council.
  • We hope that with the presence of Mr. Larijani, we can proceed with the work well.

On Snapback:

  • "Weaponizing the trigger mechanism demonstrates the three European countries' lack of willingness to play a serious and constructive role in this matter."
  • "Europe must reconsider its approach. Using the trigger mechanism to pressure Iran will not produce results except to marginalize them."

On Palermo Convention:

  • "The most important recent development, which, while not necessarily related to FATF but rather taken as a sovereign decision based on national interests, is the Islamic Republic of Iran's membership in the 'United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime', known as the Palermo Convention."
  • "After approval by relevant authorities, Iran's accession documents to this convention were deposited with the UN Secretary-General. This action was completed on July 6, and Iran officially became a member of this convention."
