Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, told Qatari officials that Iran’s military stood firm against foreign coercion and delivered a powerful response to recent acts of aggression.

Why it matters:

The conversation signals both Iran’s strong defensive stance in the face of threats and the deepening Iran-Qatar alignment.

What he’s saying:

Major General Mousavi praised Doha’s stance on regional issues and reaffirmed Iran’s right to self-defense following what he described as a 12-day imposed war:

“Iran’s righteousness in this imposed 12-day war became clear to the world. Muslim nations and global freedom-seekers voiced clear support for our position.”

“The U.S. spared no effort in supporting the Zionist regime during this conflict, providing full intelligence and logistical backing to help defend against Iran’s missile and drone strikes.”

“I appreciate Qatar’s strong condemnation of the violation of Iranian sovereignty and its consistent support for the oppressed people of Palestine.”

Qatar’s role:

Deputy PM Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah condemned the Israeli attack on Iran and extended condolences for the martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Ali Bagheri and other commanders.

He affirmed that Qatar would not allow its airspace or territory to be used in any conflict and reaffirmed Doha’s commitment to resolving issues through diplomacy.
