Like Korean Dramas, Iranian products should be seen globally, a Turkish media products buyer said at the First Media Market of the 3rd Sobh International Media Festival in Tehran.

Why it matters:

The media market fostered a ground where the foreign media companies can get familiar with the Iranian individuals and companies producing content to be streamed on OTT platforms, both to make revenue and communicate the voice of the voiceless to the people of the world.

The big picture:

The market began with guests from 13 countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Mongolia, China, Russia, Lebanon, Turkey, Indonesia, Syria, India, South Korea, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Pakistan. Four of the participating companies operate as OTT platforms.

The market continued with 38 booths for participants and a large pavilion dedicated to buyers.

What he's saying:

A buyer from Turkey: South Korea once offered its drama productions to other countries free of charge, but today it collaborates exclusively with major OTT platforms, often at considerable cost. Meanwhile, Iran has made remarkable strides in visual production, both in television and the home entertainment sector. These achievements deserve international recognition, and events like this play a crucial role in bringing Iranian content to a global audience.
