Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Saturday that the defense cooperation between Tehran and Caracas is completely legal stressing that it is Venezeu’s right to purchase military equipment wherever it wants to.

Iran PressAmerica: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in an interview with Telesur Television network published on Saturday, referring to the statement of 'Elliott Abrams', US Special Representative for Iran and Venezuela that the US does not allow the transfer of missiles from Iran to Venezuela, underscored that it is perfectly legal for Iran and Venezuela to cooperate in defense filed, and the United States tried to prevent it in the UN Security Council, but it failed.

Zarif added that with this heavy defeat in the Security Council, the United States has resorted to its old strategy of threatening and bullying against other countries.

Emphasizing that Iran and Venezuela did not allow bullying to the United States, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated that Iran will continue to cooperate with Venezuela in various fields, including defense, and that this cooperation has nothing to do with the United States.

Zarif also responded to the question of "Is not Iran afraid of such attacks and continuing to cooperate with Venezuela in the oil industry after the sabotage in Venezuela's largest oil refinery?" and noted that cooperation will definitely increase.

Referring to the oppressive US sanctions against the Iranian people, the Iranian Foreign Minister also stressed that Iran has been able to withstand US pressure for 40 years and if it wanted to surrender, it would have done so long ago.
