Iran Press/Iran news: In a meeting with Denmark's new envoy to Tehran on Wednesday, Abbas Araghchi announced Iran's opposition to any foreign military presence in the Persian Gulf region, including European forces, and stressed that the presence of the foreign forces does not help to establish security.
Emphasizing that the security of the Persian Gulf is a common concern of the region's countries, Araghchi asserted: "Sustainable security in the region depends on dialogue and collective participation between the countries of the region and the non-interference of the foreign powers."
Rather than vast selling of arms to some countries of the region, Denmark and other European countries had better confront the main cause of the tensions which is the US destructive policies in the Persian Gulf, Araghchi suggested the Danish envoy.
The meeting also addressed international and regional developments, the fight against terrorism, the situation in the Middle East, the Nagorno-Karabakh crisis, and the potential for economic cooperation between the two countries.
