President Rouhani stresses further developing Tehran-Baghdad ties, cooperation

Tehran (IP) - In a telephone call with his Iraqi counterpart, President Hassan Rouhani stressed the need to further develop relations and cooperation and speed up the implementation of agreements between the two countries.

Iran Press/Iran News: President Rouhani on Friday in a phone call with Iraqi President Barham Salih, congratulating him on the Eid al-Adha occasion as a manifestation of the unity of the world's Muslims to the Iraqi government and people.

Rouhani said that throughout history, there has been a deep bond between the people of the two countries which it becomes more apparent on these occasions, and I hope that with the reduction of corona disease, the people and officials of the two countries will be able to visit more each other.

President Rouhani described the Iraqi Prime Minister's visit to Iran as positive and an opportunity to discuss issues of mutual interest and expressed hope that the decisions and agreements between the two countries' officials would be implemented as soon as possible and that economic relations and trade between the two countries could be expanded more than ever.

In this telephone conversation, the President of Iraq, Barham Salih, congratulated the Iranian government and people on Eid al-Adha, saying: "The manifestation of this great Eid is the unity of Muslims, and I hope that in the current world situation amid the outbreak of Corona, unity, and cooperation among all countries of the region will expand more than before.
