Tehran (IP) - Iran’s President in separate phone conversations with the leaders of Italy, Kuwait, and Azerbaijan voiced the country’s readiness to transfer experiences in combating the coronavirus.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani had separate phone conversations with the leaders of Italy, Kuwait, and Azerbaijan on Monday, discussing the latest developments and issues of mutual interest.

EU should play its role against US' inhumane actions

Speaking with the Prime Minister of Italy Giuseppe Conte by telephone on Monday, President Hassan Rouhani said that saving the lives of human beings is more important than anything else, adding: "In these difficult circumstances, the US pressure on the Iranian people has been more inhumane than ever, and its continuation is a brutal crime against a great nation and against all human principles and international regulations."

Iranian President expressed his sympathy with the Italians in the fight against coronavirus, saying: "Iran has achieved good advancements in its knowledge-based companies for combatting coronavirus and we are ready to cooperate by transferring our experience."

Hassan Rouhani said that countries cannot overcome this difficult crisis alone without each other's help, adding, "We can harness the virus with each other's help and sharing our experiences."

Stating that the US' illegal sanctions against Iran continue in these difficult circumstances, the President referred to the US opposition to the International Monetary Fund's loan to Iran and added: "We expect European countries, especially Italy, to take the necessary steps towards this violation of the rules in these difficult circumstances."

Iran ready to fulfill full commitment to the JCPOA if the other side does so

Referring to Italy's position regarding the JCPOA and supporting the International agreement, Rouhani stressed: "We are ready to fulfill our full commitment to the JCPOA if the other side does so and refrains from threatening."

Rouhani stated: "Unfortunately, the financial mechanism designed by Europe (INSTEX) has not yet been able to take a significant and effective step and play a role."

Emphasizing deepening bilateral relations, Giuseppe Conte said: "We are ready to cooperate with Iran on the JCPOA and strengthen the EU's financial mechanism and the serious participation of countries in this field."

"We are also trying to work together with European countries and member states of G7 and G20 take effective action," he said.

The Italian Prime Minister also stressed the constructive role of Iran in establishing peace and stability in the region and countering terrorism, saying: "Every opportunity should be used to resolve issues and ensure security in the region, and always emphasize Iran's role in this matter.”

Iran ready to help in the field of medical equipment

Iran’s President in a phone conversation with his Azeri counterpart voiced the country’s readiness to transfer experiences in combating the coronavirus, saying Tehran is ready to provide the equipment needed to fight coronavirus to the friendly country of Azerbaijan, the official website of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran reported.

Acceleration of Rasht-Astara railway project

In a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Monday, Hassan Rouhani said: "Fortunately, with the measures taken and people's good cooperation with medical and health protocols and the efforts of the medical staff, the trend of COVID-19 in Iran has been declining."

Rouhani further referred to the talks between the officials of the two countries to provide the ground for the implementation of the agreements and the development of cooperation, and added: "I hope all the agreements between the two countries, including the construction of the Rasht-Astara railway, will go well and be implemented."

Ilham Aliyev, for his part, emphasized the implementation of the two countries' agreements, saying: “Despite the problems caused by the coronavirus, we are reviewing the opening of the Astara-Rasht railway project in the form of a video conference."

Referring to Iran's success in fighting coronavirus, the President of Azerbaijan said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has a strong health system and we welcome Iran's experience in the fight against coronavirus".

Cooperation, friendship among countries the only way for regional security

In a telephone conversation with the Emir of Kuwait on Monday, Iran’s President referred to the difficult conditions in the world due to the outbreak of coronavirus, saying: "We hope that these difficult conditions make some realize that they need to reconsider their mistakes and base their actions on human interactions."

In a telephone conversation with the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday, Hassan Rouhani emphasized cooperation of regional countries in the fight against coronavirus, and added: "The Islamic Republic has gained good experiences in this field and is ready to transfer its experiences to friendly countries, including Kuwait."

Rouhani also appreciated the efforts of the Emir of Kuwait for stable conditions in the region, and said: "There is no way to ensure security and stability in the region except through cooperation and friendship among the countries of the region itself."

Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Jaber Al-Sabah welcomed the initiative presented by Iran to provide security in the region called the "Hormuz Peace Endeavour" and said: "Kuwait's positions have always been for peace and we hope some of our friends and brothers in the region will behave wisely."
