German Chancellor, French President and British Prime Minister in a joint statement called on Iran to return to its full commitment under the nuclear agreement 2015 without mentioning the European parties' non-compliance with their own commitments.

Iran Press/Europe: The statement issued by the French President's Office said: "It is essential that Iran return to full compliance with its commitments under the agreement. We have expressed our deep concern at the actions taken by Iran in violation of its commitments since July 2019. These actions must be reversed. We reserve recourse to all the provisions of the JCPoA to preserve it and to resolve the issues related to Iran’s implementation of its JCPoA commitments within its framework.."

Angela Merkel, Emmanuel Macron and Boris Johnson also called on Iran not to incite so-called violence in West Asia without referring to US terrorist acts in the region, including the assassination of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, the late commander of the IRGC Quds Force.

In the joint statement, Merkel, Macron, and Johnson said," We reiterate our readiness to continue our engagement for de-escalation and stability in the region."

Iranian cabinet in a statement on January 5 announced the country's decision to take the final remedial step to reduce Tehran's commitments to the JCPOA.

The cabinet said that Iran will observe no restrictions in operational areas, including enrichment capacities, enrichment percentage, the volume of enriched material as well as research.

However, the cabinet said that Iran will continue cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as before.

The cabinet made clear that Iran is ready to go back to its JCPOA commitments once the sanctions are removed and the country benefits from the nuclear deal.

Under the fifth step, Iran withdrew from all of the JCPOA limitations except one which is the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections.

Iran took the fifth step as the US perpetrated the assassination of the popular commander Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani and a number of his companions, including the second-in-command of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
