Iran Press/ Iran News: A massive gathering of collegiates to commemorate Lieutenant General Soleimani's assassination, victims of Ukrainian plane crash and those lost their lives during Lieutenant General Soleimani's funeral in Kerman kicked off in Tehran on Tuesday with the attendance of a member of the Expediency Discernment Council, Saeid Jalili.
Head of Leader's representatives at Universities, Mostafa Rostami also attended the ceremony.
The Commander of Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who had traveled to Iraq on the official invitation of the Iraqi officials, was assassinated by the US air-raid in Baghdad on January 3, 2020, along with his companions.
On January 8, 2020, the Boeing 737-800 plane belonging to Ukraine International Airlines crashed near Tehran minutes after the take-off from Imam Khomeini Airport. All the 176 passengers and its crew members were killed in the crash.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran said in a statement on Saturday that the Ukrainian passenger plane which crashed was targeted unintentionally in a tragic accident due to human error.
