Iran Press/ Iran News: Speaking in a press conference via video conferencing, Gholam Hossein Esmaeili said that Iran's Judiciary has tried to turn the Corona threat into an opportunity.
"Despite the reduction of social and administrative activities due to the spreading of the Coronavirus, Iran's Judiciary has managed to take important steps," he added. 207
The Judiciary spokesman congratulated the approach of the holy month of Ramadan, saying: "If this year, due to social distancing program, it has prohibited setting up iftar tables around the country to feed the poor, we should seek the God-pleasing behavior of the Leader of the Revolution, who said that basket of goods should be distributed to provide food for the needy."
Gholamhossein Esmaili added that the Mostazafan Foundation of Islamic Revolution and the Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order (EIKO) took the lead in this direction, noting: "A large number of families of prisoners in need have received anti-coronavirus products and basket of goods."
The Judiciary spokesman emphasized that the judiciary sought to seize the opportunity posed by the threat of the outbreak of the coronavirus following the strategies announced by the Leader of the Revolution.
"The development of e-proceedings, the establishment of the required systems, the use of alternatives to imprisonment, the reduction of prison population especially with the expansion of e-care, etc., were among these measures," he added.
Gholamhossein Esmaili urged the Iranian nation and officials to take an active part in the prevention of crime.
He also referred to the Citizens' Rights as the judiciary’s duty, saying: "Judicial Citizens' Rights Committees received 1,376 public complaints during the Iranian year 1398 (starting on March 21), of which 20 cases of violation of civil rights under the jurisdiction of the judiciary and its deputies were proven."
The judiciary spokesman stressed that the next step for the judiciary is to preserve Islamic and human dignity, rights and values, announcing that with the issuance of instructions by the head of Judiciary, serious efforts have been made in this direction. 207
