Iran Press/ Asia: After the controversial and interventionist trip of Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, to Taiwan (August 2nd), the tension between China and Taiwan, as well as the American side, increased.
Pelosi made his controversial visit to Taiwan despite protests and warnings from Beijing officials, which Chinese officials say violates the "one China" policy that the United States must adhere to under the agreement with Beijing.
The Eastern Theater Command of the People’s Liberation Army said in a statement that it had completed the various tasks in a series of joint military operations around Taiwan. But it added that it would keep a close eye on changes in the situation and would continuously train, prepare and organize regular patrols “around the Taiwan Strait.
A total of 17 Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) planes crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait on Saturday, according to China.
