Canada should facilitate participation of Iranians in election: Iran

Tehran (IP) - The High Council for Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran called on Canada to allow Iranians living in Canada to participate in the election.

Iran Press/America: Criticizing the violation of the rights of Iranians living in Canada, the High Council for Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran wrote in a tweet: "Hundreds of thousands of Iranians living in Canada are deprived of not only consular rights but also the right to self-determination with the election due to Ottawa's politicized stance."

"The Canadian government has an unconditional obligation to facilitate the participation of Iranians living in Canada in the presidential election," the body said.

About 400,000 Iranians are living in Canada who also have their motherland passport.
