Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdolliahian considered the athletes of the country as ambassadors of peace and friendship in other countries.

Iran PressIran news: Iran's Minister of Sports and Youth and Foreign Minister held a meeting with the heads of the country's sports federations last evening (Saturday).

Amir-Abdollahian also announced the two ministries' plan to establish a sports service desk to provide extensive services to sports teams sent abroad. 

The foreign minister stressed that all the country's ambassadors and diplomats abroad should increase their support for sports teams in line with the cooperation of foreign agencies.

For his part, Sports Minister Hamid Sajjadi appreciated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' attention to championship sports and the presence of the representatives of the MFA abroad, along with sports teams and delegations.

Also, the heads of the national Olympic and Paralympic committees expressed their views on the importance of championship sports in diplomacy.
