Iran Press/ Iran News: Ali Reza Zakani, head of the Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, in a meeting with Nasir Abdul Mohsen Abdullah, the Iraqi ambassador to Tehran Monday, on the eve of the anniversary of the martyrdom of Haj Ghasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, saying: "A cowardly action such as assassination shows the inability and defeat of the enemy. Just as the people of Iran and Iraq united in the fight against ISIS and defeated it, they should try to expel the assassins of the resistance commanders from the region.”
He stated: "Iran has shown that it always keeps its promises and is very serious about building an independent Iraq, and will not hesitate to help Iraqi people achieve this goal."
Nasir Abdul Mohsen Abdullah said that the Iraqis are always grateful to the people, authorities, and government of Iran for fighting ISIS, noting: "Iran was the first country to help Iraq in the fight against ISIS, and the Iraqi people will never forget the struggles and sacrifices of General Ghasem Soleimani and the help of the Iranian people."
The Iraqi ambassador to Iran underscored the punishment of the perpetrators of the assassination of Soleimani and Abu Muhandis.
