The Speaker of Iran's Parliament has said terrorism is a sign of weakness rather than strength, and America's assassination of top Iranian General, Qassem Soleimani, shows US weakness and failure.

Iran Press/ Middle East: Speaking at a press conference in Beirut, Lebanon, on Moday evening, Ali Larijani strongly condemned the assassination of top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani by the US military.

The late Commander of Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGCLieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, who had traveled to Iraq on the official invitation of the Iraqi officials, was assassinated by the US drone attack in Baghdad on January 3, 2020, along with the second-in-command of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis as well as eight companions.

The Parliament Speaker also said Tehran believes that the United States is involved in the recent riots and protests in Lebanon.

Larijani also warned Washington by saying the US should know that Iran is more determined than ever to continue its resistance.

Elsewhere in his remarks Ali Larijani said: "We had witnessed in the nuclear issue that the Americans know nothing but harassment. They are seeking to make Israel a ruler in the region."

Asked why the Americans have accused Iran of fueling unrest in Iraq, Larijani said: "There is prolonged unrest and protests in France. Why don't the Americans blame Iran for that?!"

He added: "I think the Americans have become politically agitated. There are demonstrations in different countries and it has nothing to do with Iran. I understand the discomfort of the Americans because the Iraqi parliament has approved the withdrawal of all US Forces from Iraq, and understandably the Americans are uneasy."

Larijani added Americans should change their behaviour and the nations of the region are not their slaves.

"It is a disgrace to see that Trump's son-in-law, this fledgling guy, calls various foreign ministers in the region and asks them to support the Deal of the Century. That's the problem in the region," said the Speaker.

Supporting the Lebanese resistance movement, Larijani said: "They are not terrorists, and only insane Donald Trump considers them terrorists. Other countries do not have such an opinion and do not agree with Trump. Hezbollah movement is rooted in the Lebanese people and is an asset to the country, and stands against the Israeli aggression."

Pointing to the future of peace in Palestine and the promises made by Israel and the US, Larijani said: "They usually show a mirage to a nation, but they humiliate the Palestinians, they give them no advantage."

"Look at Palestine, a group of them went into the negotiation and participated in the Oslo Agreement. The Deal of the Century will not leave any dignity for Palestine," Larijani underscored.

Ali Larijani added: "We look forward to hearing news of victory in the coming days from resistance groups."

Ali Larijani, who arrived in Beirut on Monday from Damascus, had meetings with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri, Syrian President Bashar al-Asad and Speaker of the People's Council of Syria Hammouda Sabbagh.
