Iran Press/Middle East: Mohammad al-Bakhiti said after the US’ assassination of General Soleimani and Second-in-Command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMU) Abu Mahdi al-Muhadis, the US troops in Iraq are exposed to the threat.
He noted that the resistance forces in Syria and Yemen have had much progress and added that although Resistance Movement lost two of its prominent commanders, the US failed to reach its goals of assassinating them.
Al-Bakhiti said as the resistance axis has risen from the Muslim Ummah’s cause, any assassination of its commanders or waging war against it leads to further strengthening of the movement than ever.
The US forces assassinated Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhadis along with 8 of their companions near Baghdad Airport on January 3, 2020.
General Soleimani had traveled to Iraq on the official invitation of the Iraqi authorities.
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was awarded by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the first Iranian military official to hold Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar after the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
