Iran Press/Asia: The competition, featuring 247 athletes from 23 countries, saw China dominate the podium with 18 gold medals, 1 silver, and 3 bronze. Iran followed in second place, while Malaysia secured third with 3 golds, 4 silvers, and 3 bronze medals.
On the final day of the competition, in the men’s 80kg final, Ali Khorshidi clinched the gold medal after defeating Hong Kong's Li Weijin. Prior to this, Khorshidi overcame the Turkmenistan competitor, while his Chinese opponent withdrew from their match.
Mohammadreza Rigi also earned gold in the 85kg category, besting Ataev from Turkmenistan in the final.
In the 90+kg division, Mohammad Nasiri defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Karimzhan Baltabayev to win gold, after earlier securing victory over a Hong Kong athlete to reach the final.
Meanwhile, Amirhossein Hemmati faced China’s Liang Pashi in the 60kg final. Despite the match ending in a tie in both rounds, Hemmati lost the gold on technical grounds, as the lighter competitor was awarded the win. Hemmati took home silver, having beaten a South Korean opponent to reach the final.
