Iranian president Hassan Rouhani arrives in Ankara

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Ankara Turkey to attend a trilateral summit on Syria.

Iran Press/ Asia: Heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation, President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Turkey's capital on Sunday night, at the official invitation of the country's president, Recep Tayyip Erdo?an.

The Iranian president will attend the fifth round of a three-way summit with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ankara on Monday.

The summit in the Turkish capital will deal with the situation in  Syria and how to end the eight-year-conflict in the country.

Rouhani will also hold bilateral meetings with the presidents of Russia and Turkey on the sideline of the Syria summit to discuss bilateral ties with Heads of State of important neighbouring countries and Iran's trading partners.

The Astana peace process is aimed at ending the Syrian conflict. The process was launched in January 2017 by Russia, Iran, and Turkey. So far 13 rounds of talks have been held in Astana, Kazakhstan.
