Iran Press/ Africa: In the Northern state of Bauchi, thousand Shia mourners were seen in black dresses mourning while some Sunnis moved out to the side of the streets, watching the mourning from beside the roads.
Iran Press correspondent saw some mourners making awareness among Sunnis that gathered to watch the procession.
The people making the awareness were informing the watchers about the reason for the procession and the importance of the commemorations.
They were also trying to shed more light on the historical event that was going on in the streets in which women and children were seen being tied with chains and ropes, portraying the members of the family of Imam Hussain that were captured and forced to walk from Karbala of Iraq to the palace of Yazid at Damascus od Levant (Now in Syria) after murdering the holy Imam.
One of the Sunni ladies told Iran Press: "Peace be upon you all. Actually, I am not a Shia Muslim. I am Sunni, but I want to use this medium to extend my condolences to the Holy Prophet for killing his son, Imam Hussain. I condemn this work of tyrants. Thank you."
Another young Sunni man said, "As a Sunni, we condemn killing Imam Hussain. May Allah punish the killers severely."
Sheikh Ahmad Yusuf Yashi, in his interview with the reporters during the mourning procession, said, "The reason we came out with holy Quran at this occasion of Ashura is to draw the attention of the Muslim ummah and the whole international community on what had happened in Sweden."
