Iran Press/ Europe: Amnesty International said on Thursday14 May that US support for the Zionist regime results in the continuation of Israeli regime policies.
In response to the visit of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to occupied Palestine, the organization wrote on its Twitter page: "America's relentless support for Israel's plan to annex parts of the West Bank clearly shows how the United States and Israel consider themselves as above the law."
The statement also says: "This is a green light for Israel to continue to violate international human rights law."
The organization called on the international community not to accept the Zionist regime's plan to annex the West Bank illegally, calling it a violation of international law.
Amnesty International has called on the international community to emphasize the illegality of Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In the end, the organization stressed that under international human rights law, such plans would not change the legal obligations of the Zionist regime as an occupying power and would not deprive the Palestinian people of the protection they enjoy under these legal frameworks.
Pompeo entered the occupied territories on Wednesday and announced US support for the Zionist regime's plan to annex large parts of the West Bank.
He said the Zionist regime's government "will make the decision on accession and will decide whether, how, and when to do so."
