Iran Press/ Iran News: According to Iran press, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Vladimir Orlic, in Tehran on Sunday, blamed the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and Denmark for hurting the feelings of two billion Muslims in the world, and added: "sacrilege of the sacred books is condemned, and insulting the sanctities of Muslims and followers of divine religions should not be allowed under the pretext of freedom of expression."
Amir-Abdollahian also positively assessed the growth of relations between Iran and Serbia in the political, economic and cultural sectors and expressed hope that the exchange of high-level delegations between the two countries would continue and play a role in expanding cooperation as much as possible.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia appreciated the principled policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of his country, and evaluated the meetings with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as the head of the Iranian Parliament and some Iranian ministers as useful and emphasized the will of the Serbian government and parliament to promote all-round relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Evaluating the cooperation between the parliaments of Iran and Serbia as positive, Vladimir Orlic stated: "Due to the importance of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the parliamentary friendship group with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Serbian parliament is considered as one of the most numerous friendship groups."
