IP - The American representative read a statement about Iran at the quarterly meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Iran Press/Europe: The statement initially commended IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi for reporting on verification and monitoring in Iran according to Security Council Resolution 2231.

The American representative called Iran's nuclear activities "worrying" and claimed: As the Director General's report clearly shows, that instead of addressing the concerns of the international community, Iran continues to move in the wrong direction. Iran continues to develop its nuclear program, install advanced centrifuge cascades, and produce highly enriched uranium for which it has no credible peaceful purpose.

The statement claimed that if Iran is interested in building confidence in the exclusively peaceful nature of its nuclear issue, it must reduce its stockpile by 60 percent and halt such production altogether.

The American representative further claimed; We again note with concern that Iran's decision last year to remove experienced IAEA inspectors has seriously affected the IAEA's verification activities; Such actions are deeply counterproductive and we deeply regret Iran's recent refusal to reverse this decision, despite repeated requests from the Director General.

These claims about Iran's nuclear issue and the JCPOA are raised while the European Union and the United States have refused to comply with their obligations under UN Security Council Resolution 2231.
Accusing Iran of refusing to fulfill its commitments is done even though the reduction of Iran's JCPOA commitments was a legal action and a response to the American and European side's bad faith.

The quarterly meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency began on Monday and will continue until September 13. 204
