Iranian flagged oil tanker Fortune carrying gasoline and fuel for Caracas arrived in the Venezuelan coast escorted by country's Navy and air support.
Footage Iranian flagged oil tanker Fortune sailing in Venezuelan coast escorted by at least a destroyer and air support of an Air Force chopper.
The tanker, named Fortune, reached the country’s waters at around 7:40 p.m. local time (1140 GMT) on Saturday after passing north of the neighboring dual-island Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago.
Iran is supplying about 1.53 million barrels of gasoline and alkylate to Venezuela, according to both governments, sources, and calculations made by TankerTrackers.com based on the vessels’ draft levels.
The oil tanker Fortune encountered no signs of US interference as it eased through Caribbean waters toward the Venezuelan coast and Venezuelan officials celebrated the arrival.
Iran earlier sent five ships reportedly carrying petrol and components needed to produce it from oil to the Latin American country as Caracas continue to suffer from the impact of US economic sanctions.
Venezuela's envoy to the UN Samuel Moncada has welcomed the arrival of the first of five Iranian tankers in the Latin American state as a major step in its fight against foreign attacks on its sovereignty.205
