Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said on Thursday that The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported independence, national sovereignty, territorial integrity and political stability in Iraq, and considers the consensus of opinions of all Iraqi political mainstreams through democratic processes as the only way to peacefully resolve disputes.
Iran's top diplomat went on to say that for the same reason Iran welcomes today's agreement of the political groups in Iraq, which has resulted in the nomination of Mustafa al- Kazemi as the new Prime Minister, and considers it a right step in the right path.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman added: "While wishing success for Mostafa Al-Kazemi, the Islamic Republic of Iran hopes that he will fulfill his mission in forming a new government in this country to meet the demands of the people and the Iraqi Supreme Religious Authority and create a stable, united Iraq as the successful country while having an important position at the regional and international levels.
Mousavi also said, "undoubtedly, the alignment and empathy of all different tribes and political groups and prominent Iraqi characters, including Adnan al-Zurfi is effective in achieving this important goal and continuing the path."
"The Islamic Republic of Iran, as in the past, declares its full readiness to cooperate with the Iraqi government in order to overcome the country's problems and achieve the lofty goals of the Iraqi people and Iraqi Religious authority," Mousavi concluded.
