Iran Press/ Iran News: At the ceremony held on Thursday, the son of Ayatollah Hashemi and former Chairman of Tehran Civil Council said extremism was always one of Ayatollah's concerns to stop, which he was always trying.
The ex-Veep Eshaq Jahangiri also highlighted the popular character of Ayatollah Hashemi, saying he was trying to develop Iran through Quranic teachings.
A new book on Ayatollah Hashemi's records and memories in 2000 was unveiled at the ceremony.
On January 8, 2017, the founding member of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution and president for two consecutive terms, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, passed away after suffering a heart attack at the age of 82.
