Iran Press/ Asia: Police blame insurgents for the attack in Khoken village, located on the boundary between Kangpokpi and Imphal West district.
"Two people died at the spot while the third succumbed to injuries later," a local newspaper Hindustan Times reported, quoting a police official.

Thousands of people took part in the rally, during which violence broke out between the tribals and non-tribals. Schools, houses, churches, vehicles and public properties were set ablaze by protesting mobs in the state.
Reports said over 100 people have died and another 40,000 displaced since the outbreak of the violence.
